Donatella Versace | Palazzo Versace | AUS$300 Million

After the controversial passing of his brother Gianni Versace, Donatella became a fashion mogul overnight. However, since she has a lot to prove, in September 2000, one of the world’s most famous fashion brands entered the hospitality industry after opening the Palazzo Versace in Australia. Versace reportedly dropped a whopping investment money AUS$300 Million or £128 million to build this palace.

The launch of the luxury hotel coincided with the Sydney Olympic Games, and since then, this has been the go-to place to hang out for the rich people, and some of the known visitors are Donatella’s A-list friends like Jon Bon Jovi and Naomi Campbell. Donatella was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy. She was married to Paul Beck and Manuel Dallori, but both ended in court. In 2018, Versace sold the company to Capri Holdings, founded by Michael Kors, but remained the chief creative officer.
